About this motif
Maria Sibylla Merian traveled to Suriname in 1699 and drew insects together with the plants they lived on – for science at the time, a break with convention. This design follows her method: caterpillar, moth, and host plant in one image, all observed with equal precision.
The smooth surface ensures precise mouse movement, and the non-slip base provides secure grip. Available in two sizes: 18 x 16 in (46 x 41 cm) for a classic workspace and 36 x 18 in (91 x 46 cm) as a full-width desk mat that holds both keyboard and mouse. Each piece is printed individually to order.
